Malvirade welcome yours receptions. We can accommodate up to 600 for cocktails. We offer you 6 rooms, the courtyards, the gardens and a park of 23 ha. The "château" also as 2 kitchens for the use of external caterers. In the 12th century, Eleanor, eldest daughter of Guillaume X, Duke of Aquitaine, and future queen of first France and then England, inherited the duchy of Aquitaine, lands both extensive and rich. The Albret is situated in the extreme east of this territory, bordering the lands of the Counts of Toulouse. The estate of Malvirade, so named by the Romans, was an integral part of the Albret but sat uncomfortably in a frontier position facing the lands of the Toulousain counts. Several routes crossed the estate, in particular an old Roman road linking Casteljaloux and Agen via the Mas d’Agenais and the villages of Cavagnan and Grezet, a forest route. Now listed as an ancient monument (Monument Historique), the "Château de Malvirade" is open to the public for visiting, cultural manifestations, but also for wedding meal, seminar and stay. In collaboration with important centres of culture, industry and tourism, a networking organization is now under way, offering by the "Chemins de France" the opportunity to relive the memorable moments of history, from early spas to the conquest of space, passing the great moment of Middle Age, illustrated by the "Chateau de Madaillan", near AGEN, property of Chantal et Jacques AURIN, and by the Chateau de Malvirade, a high place of Renaissance genius.
